Local 4-H Extension Educator Receives National Honor

Kayla Mistic was honored at the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (NAE4-HYDP) conference in Madison, Wisconsin, held earlier this fall. Kayla received the Achievement in Service Award which honors NAE4-HYDP members with more than three and less than seven years of experience in 4-H Youth Development.
Kayla is the Clearwater County 4-H Extension Educator with the University of Minnesota Extension. She works with youth and adult volunteers to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth development programs in Clearwater County, such as after school programs with the Clear Waters Life Center and the community gardening program with Bagley Community Education. Kayla has also worked with a number of community partners, such as the Headwaters Farm Bureau, and the Clearbrook, Gonvick, Fosston and Bagley school districts to coordinate the annual Farm Safety Day Camp.
NAE4-HYDP is a professional development organization. Kayla has attended national conferences, and served on the awards committee for the Minnesota Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals (MAE4-HYDP). She has also earned MAE4-HYDP awards for Healthy Living Programming, and a team award for Educational Piece along with Katie Becker, Polk County 4-H Extension Educator, Janet Malone, East Otter Tail County 4-H Extension Educator, and Brenda Nelson, Lake of the Woods County 4-H Educator.
