Oklee Post Office Renamed in honor of Coya Knutson
By Eric Mickelson On August 22nd the Oklee Post Office was renamed in honor of Coya Knutson. Many are familiar with some of Coya’s story and her impact on the state of Minnesota and Oklee! 
Pastor Michael Wright was installed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard. Church call committee member Casey Kroulik, Pastor Mark Olson, Church President Jeff Basinger, Pastor Wright and call committee members Hannah Marsh and Sherry Rettmann.

Pastor Michael Wright was installed as the new pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard on Sunday, August 11. 
August 11, 2024 Samhold Lutheran Church will be celebrating 125 years. There will be a church service at 10:30 am followed by lunch and sharing from 11:30 to 12:30. At 1:00 pm the Abello family Acoustics Band will present a concert.

The year 1899 pioneers around Gonvick got together to organize a congregation to build a house of worship. Samhold Evangelical Lutheran Church was formed.
Ken and Laurie Brein were named the 2024 Clearwater County Outstanding Senior Citizens last weekend. They became the fifth couple to be selected since it started in 1976. A husband and wife were named the 2024 Clearwater County Outstanding Senior Citizens at the County Fair. They became the fifth husband and wife couple to receive the honor since the program began in 1976.

Anne Bergh was announced as the Gonvick 2024 Rodeo Queen. She is a long time member of the Clearbrook-Gonvick  area, a proud American and a member of the Auxiliary. She is the heart of her family and her community.
