Six inducted into MAHS at Red Lake County Central

 

Red Lake County Central High School’s induction ceremony into the Minnesota Association of Honor Societies was held Friday, October 13 in the high school gym. The six students who were inducted included Andrew Fish, Calyssa Eskeli, Lilly Guillemette, Jayden Iverson, Adrianne Jones, and Sophia Linder.

Current senior MAHS members are Hannah Kolstoe, Sydney Melby, Kara Longtin, Katie Olson, Jayden Fore, Erin Jones, and Matt Vettleson. Junior members include Jarisa Bailey, Julia Bernstein, Marie Johnson, and Sydnie Gunderson.

The program began with a welcome by the MAHS advisor at RLCC, Mr. Bryan Paskvan. It also included a candlelight ceremony focusing on the four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Each officer lit a candle and spoke about one pillar. President Hannah Kolstoe spoke about scholarship. Speaking on service was Vice President Sydney Melby. Secretary Kara Longtin talked about leadership. The final pillar character was talked about by Treasurer Katie Olson. New members were inducted.

The guest speaker was Marcella Melby, a former math teacher at RLCC.
