Services for Terry K. Solie

Terry K. Solie, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa; passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home. A memorial service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10 am at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in Terry's name may be made to ACTBLUE, PBS, or End Polio.
Terry was born on November 3, 1945, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Clifford and Beulah Solie and lived in Winger, MN. He attended grade school in Winger and then high school at Mac-Winger High School, class of 1963. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Terry was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kathy" Schnitzer on September 24, 1986. He worked for 36 years at the Social Security Administration retiring as a Disability Examiner Team Leader. Terry was an active member of the Democratic Party, an avid duplicate bridge player, loved watching all sports (primarily teams from Minnesota), was lucky at the casino, served as the family's primary financial advisor, enjoyed watching and reading about current events, and listening to Rhythm and Blues music.
Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy; beloved daughter Justine (Rob); two wonderful grandchildren Cyrus and Sabrina; siblings Jim Solie and Roxanne (Bob) Shaw. As well as nieces and nephews: Erica (Bob) Campbell; Tony (JoAnn) Shaw; Brande (Chris) Korfe, Erin Waters, Anne (Ryan) Ziola, John (Kara) Waters, Paul Golden, and Stephen Golden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law (Darlene Solie), and nephew (Matt Solie).
