Services Saturday for David Lee Nelson

David Lee Nelson, 84, of Clearbrook, MN, died on Monday, October 5, 2015 in his home surrounded by his wife and family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Clearbrook, MN. A visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.

David was born April 20, 1931 in Clearbrook, MN, where he lived his life. He attended grades 1-8 at Greenwood Township school, and grades 9-12 at Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. He married Estle Eisert on April 11, 1951 and they had seven children. David and Estle purchased their farm in 1952, where they raised their family.

David was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Clearbrook. He faithfully served the Lord there in many different capacities. He also served the community with 30 years as a school board member. David loved his horses, and raised dairy and beef cattle. During these years, he and Estle were recognized as a Clearwater County dairy couple. He also served on the Board of the American Milk Producers Inc. and Greenwood Township board. As hobbies, he enjoyed hunting and collected and polished rocks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Estle; his six children, Carrie (Darrell) Cox of Richfield, MN, Wendell (Jill) Nelson of Fort Calhoun, NE, Vicky (Shawn) Phillips of Champlin, MN, Sandy (Tim) Gray of Clearbrook, MN, Randy (Jana) Nelson of Roseau, MN, and Craig (Debbie) Nelson of Cold Spring, MN; his 17 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Anna (KenKnight) Nelson; his son, Terry Lee; his great granddaughter, Aubry Rose; and his brothers, William (Billy) and Paul Nelson.
