Services for Richard Kriewald

Richard Kriewald, 83, of Winger, MN, died Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.
 Richard was born on September 17, 1937 to the late Frank H Kriewald Sr. and Grace Evelyn Kriewald in Carrington, ND.  He went to Wooded Park Grade School and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1955.  He proudly served in the Minnesota National Guard for six years. 
 Richard started farming in the late 1950’s in Winger, where Richard, Dale and their father, Frank owned timber land.  He enjoyed sawing, planing, and selling the lumber.  In his spare time, Richard assembled farm equipment for Winger Implement and he retired from farming in 2001. 
 His hobbies included raising and releasing pheasants, hunting, ice fishing, cooking, and he was also an avid gardener.  Richard enjoyed spending summers at Strawberry Lake with his family.  His favorite holiday was Christmas and decorating the Christmas tree.  Richard was always willing to help others, and he had a generous spirit.  He was also a proud card-carrying member of the NRA.
Richard battled Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for 12 years.  He is survived by his brothers, Frank Kriewald Jr. and his wife, Rochelle, and Dale Kriewald; sister, Joan Jallen; two nieces; one nephew; and many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Kriewald Sr., sister-in-law, Glenna Kriewald; and brother-in-law, Gary Jallen.
 Graveside Services were held on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Winger, MN 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the charity of your choice.
