Services for Randall “Randy” Sundquist

Randall “Randy” Sundquist, 63, of Gonvick, Minnesota died on July 3, 2023, at his residence in Gonvick.

A private family service will be held. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Randy was born on June 9, 1960, at Chester, Montana, the son of Walter and Jan (Torgerson) Sundquist. He was baptized in Minneapolis and confirmed in Gonvick. He attended Elementary School until fourth grade in Minneapolis. In 1969, the family moved to Gonvick, where he went to school in Gonvick. Randy worked in construction and did a great deal of traveling for his job. In 2003, he was injured at work and had to retire.

Randy had the knack to make friends wherever he was. He had the gift to gab with his delightful sense of humor and had the ability to wheel and deal. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and drawing. He adored old cars, and he reveled in working on them. Randy played the harmonica and was a great Chess player. He was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Berner, MN. Randy’s family was especially important to him, and he loved them very much.           

He is survived by wife – Mickey Sundquist of Gonvick, MN; Daughter – Angie Sundquist of Farmington, MN; Son – Joey (Elise West) Sundquist of Gonvick, MN; 4 grandchildren – Austin Carter, Hailey Sundquist, Dawson Sundquist and Wesley Sundquist; Mom – Jan Nyland of Leonard, MN; Brother – Fred (Julie) Sundquist of Gonvick, MN; Sister – Julie (Kevin) Erickson of Leonard, MN; Brother-in-law – David (Cheryl) Erickson of Clearbrook, MN; Terry (Penny) Erickson of Leonard, MN; Elmer Erickson Jr. of Gonvick, MN; Mark Erickson of Superior, WI; Sister-in-law-Nancy (Kenny) Eck of Duluth, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his dad- Walter; Brother – Joel; his in-laws – Elmer and Anna Erickson; Sister-in-law- Darlene (Donnie) Peterson and Brother-in-law- Gary Erickson
