Services for Mike Mamerow

Mike Mamerow of Oklee, MN, age 61 died January 6, 2016, at McIntosh Senior Living, McIntosh, MN

Service to celebrate the life of Mike will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee, MN with Pastor Margaret Jacobus officiating.

Michael James Mamerow was born on March 18, 1954 to Wilbur and Ilene (Larson) Mamerow in Milwaukee, WI.  He was baptized Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Michael attended and graduated from Cudahy High School in the class of 1972.

On June 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Vicky Baker in South Milwaukee, WI.  Along with their three daughters, Tracy, Angela and Christina they made South Milwaukee their home.  In September of 1985 they moved to his father-in-law’s farm just northeast of Oklee.

In 1988 they moved into Oklee where Mike lived until 2009 when he went to McIntosh Senior Living where he continued to reside until his passing.

He enjoyed carpentry, tending his small garden he made behind his apartment, drinking an Old Milwaukee beer, telling stories and visiting with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters, Tracy (Jack) Lee of Oklee, MN, Angela (James) Kelley of Plummer, MN and Christina Parsley of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Jack and Brandon Lee, Brittany and  Joshua Kelley, Cameron and Kylie Parsley; siblings Mary Jo (John) Eckert, Sandy (Ron) Palasz, Pat (Catey) Mamerow and Willie (longtime girlfriend, Amy) Mamerow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ilene; and grandson, Jacob Parsley.
