Services for Marlys (Jensen) Silbaugh

Marlys (Jensen) Silbaugh  age 67 of New Hope, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 from complications of ALS. Preceded in death by father Harvey, mother Clara, brother Vern and sis-ters Kristeen and Edee. Survived by husband Walt (Reggie), son Shane, daughter Meridee, brother Bob, sister Joyce and many other relatives and friends. Marlys was a graduate of McIn-tosh High School, received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Concordia College of Moorhead and received her Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota. Following graduation from Concordia, Marlys taught High School Physical Education in Pine River, MN where she met her husband Reggie. She was extremely active with extra curricula activities coaching Basketball, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Track and served as Cheerleader Adviser. She and Reggie were married in 1975 and moved to New Hope. She substituted in various school districts and coached Fridley’s Girls’ Basketball for several years before deciding to stay home with her children. In 1990 she returned to teaching in Robbinsdale School District 281. She taught Physical Education at TLC, later known as Robbinsdale Middle School, and Health at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School before retiring in 2013.
