Lila Faye (Lundell) Ricke, 87, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley, Minnesota with the Reverend Mark Olson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, Minnesota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Lila was born on July 6, 1936, in Bagley, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Hazel (Johnson) Lundell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bagley, Minnesota, and was a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley, Minnesota. Lila was a very proud member of the Irvin Blix American Legion Auxilllary Post #16 of Bagley, MN. Lila graduated from Bagley High School in 1954. She worked at Art Pederson’s Drug Store for a year and a half after she graduated. Lila went out to the Borgerding Timber Company and worked with Eunice Josephson for 4 ½ years. In 1960, she started working for Dr. Tom Byfield at his dental office in the old clinic building. In 1968, Dr. Byfield moved to the new office, and she worked for both Dr. Tom Byfield and Dr. David Sandwick until 1996. Dr. Jill Nelson and Dr. Mary Jones worked with Dr. Sandwick as well. In 1977, Lila married Mick Ricke. For many years, Lila’s mother did babysitting (childcare) in her home. Her brother Curtis and Lila enjoyed and loved children. Lila, her mother and her brother, enjoyed many years of camping in Yellowstone, Glacier Park, Banff and Napa Valley. Later, Curis and Lila traveled. One of their favorite places was the Scandinavian Countries. Lila enjoyed gardening and canning when she lived in the country. She liked Red Wing Pottery and dishes, antiques and collector items.
Lila is survived by her Step-daughter – Julie Ann Milton
