Leslie Allen Klinke, 57, of Fosston, MN passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 15, 2023.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, Minnesota with Pastor Chris Thoreson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Leslie was born on December 1, 1965 in Fosston, MN the son of Ronald and Janet (Aspen) Klinke. He grew up on the family farm where he currently resided.
Leslie met and married Julie Baumgartner. To that union, they had three children; Devin, Bailey and Taylor. Later in life, he met and married Tracy (Pletschett) and suddenly had a family of 10. He loved his children and was enjoying watching his grandchildren grow.
Leslie worked a variety of jobs. He worked at Gordon’s Construction for many years until settling into what he called the perfect job at Poplar Meadows. He took pride in his work and loved his work family. He thoroughly enjoyed seeing and talking with the residents. He also got to work with his sister, Rhonda, which he treasured. Farming was his real passion and he had a special gift with the horses. The animals loved him.
Leslie enjoyed doing many things. Some of his favorites included fishing, hunting and just riding around on his four wheeler. He also loved to dance. What he lived for most was football, he was an avid Vikings fan and always stuck by them through thick or thin. Farm chores always came first, and he was content in doing them.
Leslie was a no-nonsense man with a heart of gold. His faith was important to him and played a big part of how he lived his life. He never grumbled or felt bad for himself. He just always found the things to be thankful for. He was a rock that many leaned on. A very strong man with a soft and humble heart. He has a smile that melted our hearts. He will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.

His children – Devin (Samantha) Klinke of Bemidji; Bailey (Tim) Palm of Trail; Taylor (Cody) Klinke of Clearbrook.
Step-children – Jordan (Grace) Lendway of Bemidji; Jeremy (Kelly) Pletschett of Lindstrom; Taylor Pletschett of Gonvick; Tanner (Carlie) Pletschett of Gully.
His mother – Janet Klinke of Fosston, MN
Brother – Cory Klinke of Fosston, MN
Sisters – Gail (Jeff) Moody of Fargo, ND; Denise (Junior) Coyer of Fosston; Rhonda (Roger) Larson of Lengby; Marcy (Trent) Grover of Leonard, and his beloved dog Smurf
8 grandchildren – Cory, Bella, Zaidan, Emma, Everleigh, Ezra, Keziah and Amelia.
Numerous Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and some very special neighbors and friends that he considered family.
Leslie was preceded in death by his father – Ronald Klinke; Brother – Lance Klinke; Brother-in-law – Terry Lendway and Stepson – Tom Pletschett.
