Services for LeRoy “Pete” Lewis
LeRoy “Pete” Lewis, 78, of Leonard, MN died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his residence in Leonard, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN with the Reverend Robert Kirchman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Silver Creek Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Pete was born on December 9, 1938 at Fosston the son of Hjalmer and Marie (Bergman) Lewis. He attended Clearbrook High School, graduating in 1957. After graduation, Pete built houses before being drafted into the United States Army. He served our country from March 19, 1962 until his honorable discharge on March 1, 1963. He married Patricia Ann Smith on June 15, 1963 at Minneapolis, MN. Pete worked construction in Grand Forks and Minneapolis and owned the Bowling Alley in Clearbrook, MN. He and Pat moved back to the area and Pete was the Superintendent for Commercial Construction all over Minnesota for 33 years until his retirement in 1996. When He was 70 years old, Pete and his grandchildren built their retirement home. He was a member of the Melvin Johnson American Legion Post #256 of Clearbrook, a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, and a member of the Carpenter’s Union. He was an avid outdoors person and enjoyed his many Canadian fishing trips, hunting and fishing with his wife, his sons and their wives, and all his granchidren (who all out fished him). Pete also enjoyed traveling, curling, ice fishing, wood working, storytelling and was a Minnesota Twins fan. Family was extremely important to him, both his immediate and extended family. He had daily involvement in his boy’s lives, and his grandchildren’s lives. His grandchildren were golden to him and he loved spending time with them. His life was all about being a husband, father,grandpa and great grandpa.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Lewis of Leonard, MN

Son – Scott (Lynn) Lewis of Bemidji, MN
Son – Tom (Kathy) Lewis of Clearbrook, MN
Son – Matt (Carol) Lewis of Fort Collins, Colorado
8 grandchildren – Adam Lewis, Jenna Lewis, Patrick Lewis, Samantha (Brandon) Everitt, Thomas (Kristi) Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, Allison Lewis and Cody Lewis.
1 great grandson – Colten Everitt
