Services for Leone Viehause

Leone Viehauser, 87, of Crookston, MN, and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN, died early Saturday morning, October 8, 2016, at the RiverView Care Center in Crookston. Leone, daughter of Aanond and Sigri Rystad, was born on her parent’s farm in Lessor Township, north of McIntosh, MN, on September 25, 1929. She grew up on the farm and attended school in McIntosh. She was later united in marriage to Russell W. Viehauser and the couple made their home in Grand Forks, ND. They moved to Minneapolis, where Leone was employed by the Minnetonka Moccasin Company for several years. Leone and Russell returned to Grand Forks and he passed away in 1991. Leone then made her home in East Grand Forks until becoming a resident of the RiverView Care Center in 2015. Friends were a very important part of her life, along with the company provided by her pet cats.

Leone is survived by 3 nieces: Joan (Charles) Anderson of Edina, MN, Susan McDonald of Ossian, IA, and Mary (Robert) Bushey of Emerado, ND; 3 nephews: John (Valerie) McDonald and Darryl (Cindy) McDonald, all of Larimore, ND, and Mark McDonald of Valley City, ND; and other extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was preceded in death by her parents, Aanond and Sigri; 4 brothers: Selmer “Sam”, Howard, Obert “Tex”, and Alvin ; 5 sisters: Selma “Sally”, Josephine, Tillie, Thelma, and Olga.; 3 infant siblings; a niece, Shirley Voxland; and 2 nephews, Allen Voxland and Conrad Hougom. May God bless Leone’s memory.

A memorial service for Leone Viehauser will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at RiverView Health, Meeting Room 4, in Crookston (please use the Rehab entrance). The Rev. Greg Isaacson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
