Keith Wayne Higginbotham, 75, of Middle River, MN died on Sunday, April 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Keith Wayne Higginbotham was born February 13, 1950, in Bemidji, MN. He was the son of C. Vernon Higginbotham, Emily (Schummer) & Paul Everhart.
Keith was a man of simple joys and a generous spirit, Keith found happiness in the little things that made life rich. Whether teeing off on the golf course, going on pontoon rides with his grandkids, or spending time at the Bemidji Speedway, he always knew how to slow down and savor the moment. His easy smile and sense of humor were fixtures at the card table, where friendly games would stretch into the night, punctuated by laughter and lighthearted teasing.
Keith loved to travel; he was always eager for the next adventure. Whether it was a road trip with loved ones or a cruise with his kids, he believed in making the most of every journey. But more than anything, Keith cherished his time with his grandchildren. He was never too busy for a game, a story, or a silly joke. The memories he made with them—dancing in the living room while singing to oldies and riding anything with a motor. All the memories made will be treasured for generations to come.
Keith worked his whole life. His mom taught him that everything in life is earned by working hard. He spent many hours cutting wood as a child, but he found his biggest passion in the driver's seat of an 18-wheeler. What started as a job trucking became a calling and eventually he took on co-ownership of Hartz Truckline Inc until he retired at the age of 55. He wintered in Arizona and summered in Minnesota.
Keith is survived by the three loves of his life & their children, Diana (Eisenhauer) Higginbotham children S. Keith Higginbotham & Colleen (Randy) Murdock, Susan (Johnson) Higginbotham children Candace (Corey) Boen, Marshall (Jenn) Tennermann, Jolie Teie, and Denise Anderson, and Sony Smith children John & Melody. He was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Along with his siblings Donald “Sonny” (Dee) Higginbotham, Paulette (Roger) Walberg, Mavis Halvorson, Rhonda Netland, Renae (Lance) Knutson, Randy Higginbotham, Marlys Higginbotham, brothers-in-law Marvin Marty, Dean VanMill and many nieces and nephews.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Donna “Sis” Marty, Lavonne “Cookie” VanMill, brother Mark Higginbotham, brothers in law Wayne Netland & Jerome Halvorson, sister-in-law Sue Higginbotham, niece Amanda Higginbotham and nephew Lee Walberg.Funeral services will be held at the Cease Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 2: 00 pm with visitation starting at 1 hour prior. Interment will be at Bagley City Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Bagley American Legion Auditorium.
