Joyce Yvonne Yocum (Krueger), 68, of Gonvick, Minnesota, formerly of St. Paul, MN died on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Essentia Health Oak Crossings in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Kandi’s Kitchen in Gonvick, Minnesota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Joyce was born on May 24, 1956 in Waukegan, Illinois to Randall Krueger and Myrtle Hanson. She was raised in the St. Paul area, attending Tartan High School. She received her CDL and drove bus in addition to being a home maker and a waitress for many years. She married Mark Yocum in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 26, 1981. They moved to Gonvick in the early 2000s.
Joyce was very independent. She loved horses, riding since she was a little girl. She was active in 4H her whole life, both in the Hugo/Forest Lake area as well as Clearbrook/Gonvick area. She also enjoyed trucks. Above all, Joyce loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Mark Yocum; her children, Chris (Gail) Elliott and Katherine Bontjes; her step children, Jason Haugen and Layla (Gene) Centeno; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her father, Randall Krueger, Sr.; her half-siblings, Ronda, Darlene, Denise, and Randall, Jr.; her brother-in-law, Ron Halvorson; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Yocum; her mother-in-law, Mina Jacobs; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle; her infant brother; and her half-sister, Crystal Krueger.
