John “Pete” Peter Sterling, 88, of Bagley, MN, formerly of Clearbook, MN died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Country Faith Church in Clearbrook, Minnesota. Interment will be held at Elim Lutheran Cemetery in Clearbrook, Minnesota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Pete was born on May 28, 1936 in Lisbon, North Dakota to John and Elizabeth (Nurdarf) Sterling. Pete was a farmer through and through, raising Charolias cattle. He lived in Clearbrook for over 70 years. He was a member of Country Faith Church. He had a great interest in politics and liked to read. Pete was kind and had a keen sense of humor. He enjoyed the simple life.
Pete is survived by his sister, Reggie Sterling; his nephew, Don Heitmiller of Minneapolis, MN; his niece, Jeannine Thomas of Mountainburg, Arkansas; along with all beloved great nieces and nephews in his extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Sterling; and his siblings, David Sterling, Meta Sterling Westphal, Remko “Bud” Sterling, and Tina Sterling.
