Services for Gerald “Shorty” Olson,

Gerald “Shorty” Olson, 47, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his residence in Berner, Minnesota.  

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, Minnesota with Pastor Kris Snyder Officiating. Visitation will begin 1-hour prior to the services. Interment will be held at the United Lutheran Cemetery in Berner, Minnesota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements. 

 

Shorty was born on July 17, 1973 in Fosston, MN the son of Rodney and Joan (Widseth) Olson.  Shorty was baptized in Berner, MN and confirmed in Trail, MN at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Berner, MN. He attended schools in Gonvick, Oklee, and graduated from Bagley High School in 1993.  Shorty was self-employed and enjoyed working on small engines.  He loved spending time with family and friends especially being with his nieces and nephews whom he adored very much.  He took pleasure in sparking up a conversation with whomever he met.  Shorty liked 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and was very fond of his car “Monte Carlo” and referred to it as his (baby).

Nephews and Nieces- Travis & Ryan Voeltz; Justin, Nicholas, & Christopher Olson;

Donovon, Alex, Violet & Diane Olson; Lynsey & Kaitlyn Morris; Peyton & Mason Williams.

Great Nieces and Nephews- Taelynn & Devin Voeltz; Hattie & Brynn Lee, Waylon Voeltz.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Rodney & Joan Olson; grandparents Andrew & Violet Widseth; Howard Olson; Ruth Hanson; and niece Carrie Olson.
