Services for Dean R. Radniecki

Dean R. Radniecki, 69, of Proctor passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 in Duluth at Viewcrest Nursing Home surrounded by his family. Dean was born July 31, 1946 to Al and Violet Radniecki in Thief River Falls.
Dean grew up in Oaklee and graduated from Oaklee High School in 1964. After high school he graduated from North Dakota State in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree for mechanical engineer. He married the love of his life Angela Whalen July 16, 1966 in Oaklee. In 1968 they moved to Aurora where they raised their children and had a long standing career in the mining industry. In 1990 they moved to Schroeder, MN where he was instrumental in restarting an idled Power Plant at Taconite Harbor. In 1993 then moved back to the Iron Range and lived in Hoyt Lakes, retiring in 2004.
He loved spending time fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and even cutting wood. He was known as an outdoorsman but his true passion was watching his children and grandchildren playing on their various sports teams.  When you would visit him he would often be watching the Vikings, Twins, or the Gophers play on T.V.  Dean always put his family first and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Dean was a member of St. James, Holy Rosary Church in Aurora, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Knights of Columbus, and the Northern Minnesota Engineer Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, George and Esther Whalen; several sister-in-laws; many aunts , uncles, and nephews; and several cousins.
Dean will be greatly missed by his wife, Angela; sons, Joe of Proctor, and Robert(Andi) Park Rapids; daughter, Monica(Mike) Hendrickson of Duluth; grandchildren, Rebecca and Benjamin Hendrickson, and Joshua Mugge; brothers, Anthony and Matthew(Julie); 3 brother-in-laws; many nieces and nephews; 1 uncle; and numerous aunts and cousins.
Visitation: 10 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, 721 57th Ave. West, Duluth. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery. Please leave a memory of Dean or words of support for the family at www.bellbrothersfuneralhome.com .
