Services for Bobbie D. Olson

Bobbie D. Olson, 69, of Trail, MN, died on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home in Trail, MN.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN. A visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born on August 5, 1948 in Bagley, Minnesota to George and Thelma (Johnson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Berner, MN. He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Fischer on his 19th birthday, August 5, 1967, at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN. Bobbie worked at the Gully Co-op, M&J Farm Service of Fosston (Partnership with Carroll Hetland) and at the Fosston Co-op until retirement in 2015. He was dedicated to his work, which included the involvement of his family. He worked side by side with his son, Shane, his right-hand man for over 30 years. He spent many hours visiting with farmers and checking fields, even into retirement. Bobbie was a member of the Gonvick Fire Department for 17 years, which included some time as chief.
Bobbie loved sitting on the deck listening to music with Mary and “hunting” squirrels. He enjoyed the many hours he spent on his lawn mower. He loved teasing and goofing around with his grandchildren. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Olson of Trail, MN; his sons, Shane Olson of Gonvick, MN and Adam (Tara) Olson of Fosston, MN; his daughter, Allison (Mike) Sundquist of Fosston, MN; his grandchildren Lexi Olson, Alex Olson, Bobbie Olson, Morgan Sundquist, Brett Sundquist, Teri Mikalojczyk, and Tyra Goodwin; his great granddaughter, Taylor; his sisters, Betty Langseth of Leonard, MN, Gloria (Bill) Lee of California, and Eileen Vanderport of Gonvick, MN; his brother, Ray (Dolly) Voxland of Montana; his sister-in-law, Sue Voxland of Clearbrook, MN; a special family friend, Carolyn Powell of Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Olson; his brothers, Larry Voxland and Sonny Voxland; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Vanderport and Glen Langseth.
