Ardella Lindberg, 86, of Leonard, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Cornerstone Nursing Home in Fosston, Minnesota.
Per Ardella’s wishes, no services will take place. Interment will be at the Norway Lake Cemetery in Leonard, Minnesota. Memorials in Ardella’s memory may be sent to Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 44327 243 Ave, Leonard, MN 56652.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Sidney and Alma (Jacobson) Churness welcomed a precious baby girl named Ardella June on the family homestead in Clearbrook, Minnesota, on June 6, 1938. Ardella grew up in a large family with eight other siblings. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1956.
Ardella married Marvin Lindberg on October 27, 1956, at First Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN. They celebrated almost 64 years together before Marvin’s passing in 2020. Together, they were blessed with two children, Kevin and Shari.
Faith was very important to Ardella. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard, where she was always helping with ladies' aid or service projects. She was on.the board of North Country Arts and Crafts. Ardella was Clearwater County Woman of the Year in 2008 and Clearwater County Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2010.
She truly enjoyed rosemaling and taught others her special gift for several decades with the Norda Gonvick Rosemalers. You could always count on Ardella for helping out in her community, as she had a knack for everything. She made and gave away many quilts over the years as well. Always generous with whatever she had.
She also had a great sense of humor and told people, "You better cry at my funeral even if you have to put onions in your hankie!" But hospitality was her greatest gift to the world. Always ready to welcome anyone into her home and heart. She will be missed by many!
She is survived by her son, Kevin Lindberg; her daughter, Shari Davenport her grandchildren, Hannah Lindberg, Jessie Davenport, Luke Davenport and Lindsey Lindberg Davenport, Shannon Davenport and her daughter Chloe, and her great grandsons, Maza Davenport & Jay Reed; her sisters, Betty Sorenson and Karen Vogh; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Ardella was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents, Sidney and Alma Churness; her brothers, Harvey and Melvin; her sisters, Elnora, Viola, Ruth, and Alberta; and her son-in-law, Jim Davenport.
