With heavy hearts, the Paquin family announces the passing of Andy Scott Paquin, 46, of Clearbrook, MN, who left this Earth on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Andy was a loving father, son, and brother and a loyal friend. His adventurous spirit and humorous personality left a lasting impact on everyone he met, and he is greatly missed.
Andy was born to Stephen Ernest Paquin and Bonnie Joan Paquin on June 8, 1977, in Bemidji, MN. Shortly after, the Paquin family moved to Medicine Lake, Montana, where Andy spent his early childhood making fond small-town memories. The family later returned to Minnesota, settling in Clearbrook, which became home to Andy and his brothers, Peter and Alex. Andy excelled as both a student and athlete in Clearbrook, graduating with the Class of 1995 from Clearbrook-Gonvick High School, where he developed his passions for football, choir, music, and drama. Andy took great pride in his time working at the Clearbrook Pool, where he taught numerous youths to swim and served as a lifeguard.
Andy pursued his dream of becoming a pilot at the University of North Dakota, graduating with a B.S. in Aerospace Studies and leaving UND with many lifelong friends. His career as a corporate pilot took him to numerous corners of the world, visiting over 36 countries. Andy’s professional journey spanned from Beaumont, TX, to Virginia Beach, VA, and Monterey, CA, before he settled in New Milford, CT, where he made his home and continued his career flying as a corporate pilot. Throughout his travels, Andy had a way of making friends wherever he went - his friendships meant so much to him.
In 2011, Andy married Robin Bonato, and together they welcomed twins Rockne and Stevie in 2014. Andy was an adoring father and shared his love of good music, good food, and having a good time with his son Rockne and daughter Stevie.
Andy was known for his warmth, kindness, and sense of humor. His enthusiasm for life extended to his passions, including Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey, the Minnesota Twins, and grilling ribs and wings. His barbecues and holiday parties were legendary, ensuring that everyone had a memorable time, and you were assured a Jimmy Buffet song or two playing as the soundtrack to enjoy the day and each other's company.
Andy is survived by his son Rockne and daughter Stevie; his mother, Bonnie Lambert Paquin; his brothers, Peter Paquin, Alex (Kaia) Paquin, nephews, Jagger, Asher, and Finn. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends he considered family and his black lab sidekick Angus. Andy was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Paquin; his grandparents, Elizabeth and Adelore Paquin, and Dorothy and Dewey Lambert; and his beloved black lab, Zeppelin.
As Andy would have wanted, we celebrate his life and remember the joy he brought to all of us. May his memory live on in the stories we share and the laughter we remember.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Park Event Center 500 Division St., Waite Park, MN, on Saturday, September 14th, at 10:30 a.m., Following the service, a BBQ gathering will be held at his Uncle Wayne’s Farm 7230 322nd St, St. Joseph, MN. All family and friends are welcome to join. Interment will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Oklee, MN at a later date.
