Andrea Joan Netland was born in Nora Township, Minnesota on July 25, 1943, to Wallert and Myrtle (Erickson) Netland. Andrea grew up on the family farm with her siblings, she was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church. She attended country grade school through the 6th grade and graduated from Bagley High School in 1961. Immediately after graduation, she went to work for Clearwater County Social Services as a Financial Worker. She worked for 36 years, before retiring in 1997. She was united in marriage to Duane Lundin on June 23, 1962, in Bagley, Minnesota. They were happily married for 55 years before his death in 2017. Andrea lived her entire life in Nora Township, where she and Duane raised their two sons, Leif and Tony. Once Andrea and Duane became empty nesters, they found themselves traveling to the Twin Cities or to Tennessee to spend time with their grandchildren.
Andrea had a heart of gold and could light up a room with her smile. She had no enemies and was a giver in many ways to people through various charities, organizations, and the Lord. She was a member of Save the Children, (of whom she sponsored many children) Shriner’s, United Service Organization, Heritage Foundation, and Doctors without Borders, just to name a few. She volunteered at local Nursing Homes, and at the Christian Lending Library. Her Faith was very important to her, and she was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. Andrea studied her Bible, went to Bible Study, sang in the Church Choir, and enjoyed listening to Christian Music.
Andrea had several hobbies; crocheting, embroidery, playing cards, dancing, playing accordion and piano, and was a fantastic cook and baker. She loved spending time with her sisters singing, going to rummage sales, thrift shopping, going out for lunch or just sitting down for a cup of coffee. Family was very important to her. She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Andrea was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
