Matthew Paul Lewis

Matthew Paul Lewis was born on October 18, 1968, in Petoskey, Michigan. Matt is survived by his wife, Mavis Lewis of MN, his stepdaughters, Renea Battistella of MN, and Anna Langley (Benett) of GA. Six grandchildren, Maeghan Moore (Cody) of GA; Kaitlyn Wyenberg (Logan) of WI; Noah Langley (U.S. Navy); Michael Battistella Jr. of WI; Gabriel Langley of GA; Angel (Kylie) Battistella of WI; and two great-grandchildren, Novalee Moore and Amos Moore of GA. His brother Ben Lewis (Heidi) of ND and their children: Daniel Lewis (Lotum) of ND, Joe Lewis of ND, and Josh Lewis of ND. His sister, Eve Hickman (Dave) of MI, and their children: Seth Hickman (Vyctoria) of WY, Rachel Braun (Dave) of Australia, and Jonah Hickman (Maya) of MI. Nephews Ben Ash of MN; and Jarrod Ash of MN. Several great nieces and nephews: Roman Ash, Ellia Braun, Adam Braun, Summer Braun, Emmersyn Hickman, Reid Hickman, and Wrenley Hickman.

Matt was an avid coin collector. He liked to spend his personal time repairing cars and building model cars, toy engines, mini semi-trucks, tinkering with 4-wheelers, and building dog houses for his beloved dogs, Charlie and Sammy.

Matt was an exceptionally hard worker. He was a long-time employee at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, MN. Matt served alongside his co-workers and leadership consistently from May 2005 until November 3, 2025. When days were tough on him, he never wavered; Matt remained loyal to his work and family until he was called home on November 18, 2025.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Avangeline Lewis, and his sister, Mary Ash.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at noon at the Seventh-day Adventist church in Bemidji, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Winger Cemetery in Winger.
