Kevin Gene Kircher

Kevin Gene Kircher passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his home after a year-long battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Kevin was born July 2, 1961, to Gene and Marguerite Kircher in Bagley, MN. He grew up alongside his only sibling, Kari, in Grand Rapids and Bagley, MN. In May 1979, Kevin graduated from Bagley High School. In 1983, he started K&K Drywall, a business that he owned and operated throughout the remainder of his life. In business, he was recognized for his strong work ethic and exceptional workmanship. On April 4, 1981, Kevin married the love of his life, Cynthia Swain. The couple welcomed their son, Caleb, in 1983 and their daughter, Carissa, in 1987. On October 11, 1980, Kevin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. During his lifetime, he enjoyed helping others learn about his God, Jehovah, by participating in the doorto-door ministry. Another highlight of his spiritual life was volunteering his time to build and remodel Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses. One such project that meant a lot to him was when he was invited to work at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Warwick, NY. Anyone who knew Kevin likely knew of his love for golf, travel, Jeopardy, and the outdoors. Family vacationed in Cozumel, Mexico, where he could be found on a dive boat or the beach with a bag of chicken from the “chicken man,” are a shared memory his family will cherish. That love for Cozumel led him and Cindy to winter there the first two years of their retirement, making lifelong friends and memories. Visiting family in Nicaragua was another memorable experience for him. Kevin loved ice fishing in Canada, yelling “flag” every time he glimpsed a tipup. As a lover of golf, Kevin could be found on the course many days of the week. Twin Pines Golf Course won’t be the same without that familiar left-handed swing. Becoming a grandpa was very special to Kevin. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren as often as possible. When they were babies, Kevin could often be found snoozing in his chair with a grandbaby sleeping comfortably on his chest. Other favorite times with his grandchildren included riding the four-wheeler around his Bagley property and teaching them how to water ski. Kevin’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. Kevin will be remembered as a good friend. He enjoyed teasing those he loved. A mild insult from him was a form of endearment. He was also quietly generous, always ready to give a helping hand or willing to give a listening ear when people came to him with their problems. His friendship will be remembered fondly. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Kircher; father-in-law, George Swain; grandparents, Edgar and Helen Kircher and Walter and Ruth Dahlstrom. Kevin is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Caleb (Brenda) Kircher, Carissa (Justin) Carlson; mother, Marguerite; motherin-law, Daphane Swain; sister, Kari (Jeff) Folscher; grandchildren, Alexis, Amelia, Henry, Hudson, Mick, Ezra, and a multitude of other family members.
