Norman Bakke Obituary
Norman Dean Bakke passed away Monday, March 2nd at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab Center in Bagley, MN.
Norman was born July 27th, 1954 to parents Melvin and Helen (Eck) Bakke of Gonvick.
Norman was Baptized and Confirmed at Samhold Lutheran Church of Gonvick.
Growing up on a farm west of Gonvick, there was always lots of fun and hard work. He helped his Dad with Chores, Harvesting and whatever needed to be done. He was always quiet and never complained. At school he maintained perfect attendance.
He graduated in May 1973. He and his Cousin Frank Dyrdahl went to Atlanta and worked on Golf Course Aeration. After completion, they traveled the Country and to Seattle to see Norman's extended Family.
Throughout his life, Norman worked primarily as a Custodian. After obtaining his Boiler License, he worked at the Gonvick Public School. Next he worked at the Warroad Public School and after moving back home to help with our Mom, he started work at the Clearwater County Courthouse in Bagley where he worked for 20 years, retiring in 2017.
Norman's work ethic showed in all of his employment. He went above and beyond, never missing a day. He was complimented often for his impeccable care of both inside and out of the Courthouse. Norman's word was as good as gold.
Dogs, “Champ” and “Pepsi” were his constant companions. He loved them like family. He had a love of Classic Cars, Pickups. He loved to ride his Motorcycle and Snowmobiles.
Lastly, Norman was loved by many friends and family. He never missed an event and made lasting memories for us all. We will always hold a special place for Norman in our hearts.
Norman is survived by his Siblings: Wayne (Kathy) Bakke, Bruce (Judy) Bakke, David Bakke and Brenda (Rick) Skarison. Sister in laws: Lynette Bakke and Beth Bakke. Godmother: Patricia “Tippy” Berg, Aunt Mavis Eck and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
