Dennis Bergeron

Dennis “Denny” Dean Bergeron, 82, of Cass Lake, MN died Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji.

Dennis was born on November 24,1942 at St. Michael Hospital in Cass Lake, MN to Lester and Florence “Tootsie” (Frost) Bergeron. He was raised with his 3 brothers, Dale, Gerald, and Daniel (Jim) on their farm graduating from Cass Lake High School. Dennis married Elizabeth Marty on July 7,1962 and were married 63 years. They raised 3 children; Brenda, Terri and Jerry.

Dennis was a chairman on the Farden Township, Hubbard County Board for over 40 years and for the last 10 was the Farden Cemetery Sexton. Dennis worked many jobs including Bohn Mink Farm, Wittner logging, Wheeler lumber Bridge and Littons. He was then employed by the U.S Forest Service in Cass Lake on a survey crew while running his farm. Later he owned and operated his landfill and refuse business. After selling the business he worked as a sawyer at Foster Wood Products. His last employment was with the Bemidji school district as a custodian, while there he earned his boiler certificate and then worked at Lincoln Elementary as a Custodial Engineer. He loved the people he worked with and the children at the school.

Dennis was a true outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and gardening were his pride and joy. He loved to hunt for whatever was in season and was an excellent marksman. He also was an avid fisherman and stated he was fishing for “anything that bites”. He had amazing vegetable gardens and provided food for many friends and family at no charge.

Dennis’s other love was his dogs. He had many dogs throughout his lifetime. Excellent labs for hunting and companionship and his beloved wiener dogs. Marley was his current wiener dog and he faithfully stayed by his side night and day.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, their 3 children Brenda Skime,Terri (Jim) Marken, Jerry (Amy) Bergeron,10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and his brother Daniel (Jim). He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Florence, brothers Dale and Gerald.

Please join us for a celebration of life Friday October 10th at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake, MN with visitation at 10am, service at 11am and lunch to follow service. Dennis will be laid to rest at Farden Township cemetery at 2pm under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
