Death Notice for Brandi Lynn Rokke

Brandi Lynn Rokke was born on August 14, 1979 in Grand Forks, ND to Dean and Valerie (Shambeau) Rokke. She attended grade school in Drayton, ND and high school in McIntosh, MN at Win-E-Mac High School. While in high school she worked at BB Café and Flap Jack Cafe as a cook and waitress. Following her graduation she worked at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen for a brief period. She then moved to Las Vegas, NV where she worked a number of different jobs before moving to California in 2001. Brandi lived in a number of different locations in California before moving to Viking, MN in 2008 and enrolling in Nursing at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls. Brandi attended one semester of nursing school before being forced to withdraw due to her diagnosis of brain cancer. She moved to Newfolden in 2010 where she has since resided with her family. Brandi passed away at her home on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the age of 35 years, 9 month, and 16 days after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer.

She loved spending as much time as she could with her children, going to the casino with her mom, watching MMA, and spending time with her friends.

Brandi is survived by her children: Emerald, Zantasia, and Steven Pittman, Jr. of Newfolden, her parents, Valerie Shambeau of Newfolden and Dean (Linda) Rokke of Bemidji, MN, her brother: Daniel (Gabby) Rokke, Las Vegas, NV, her fiancé: Jack Dickson of Bakersfield, CA, grandparents: Robert Lorenson of Thief River Falls, MN and Orvald (Gloria) Rokke of Newfolden, MN, along with many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Marilyn Lorenson and her uncle Vincent Shambeau.
