David Lee Hanson,

David Lee Hanson, 61, of Bagley, MN passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a small service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, Minnesota. A private family interment will be held at a later date at the Minerva Cemetery in Shevlin, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

David was born on August 25, 1964, to parents Roger and Barbara (Erickson) Hanson in Mora, Minnesota. He graduated from Bagley High School in 1982 and went on to attend Bemidji Technical College in the early 1990s, earning his associate degree.

David had a deep love for cars and racing and was especially passionate about demolition derbying. He was a dedicated fan of all Minnesota sports and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports while they were growing up and was proud of the time he was able to spend supporting them. David was also a very proud grandpa and loved spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could.

David is survived by his sons, Derek (Jen) Hanson of Fridley, Minnesota and Dustin (Ashley) Hanson of Parker’s Prairie, Minnesota; grandchildren, Korra, Lane, Aurora, Sterling, and Mia; his brother, Ray (Donna) Hanson of Bagley, Minnesota; nephews and nieces, Megan, Marlena, Travis, Justin, Chelsie, John, and Christie; and several great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his former wife, Terri Hanson; parents, Roger and Barbara (Erickson) Hanson; brother, James Hanson; and grandparents, Clarence and Alice Hanson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
