Auditors to present Report at November meeting
The Clearbrook-Gonvick School board was informed at their regular meeting on October 19 that the auditors would be at the November meeting to present their report. Superintendent Wayne Olson stated that they are moving out of Statutory Operating Debt and into a positive balance. The meeting is set for Monday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. When the fund balance builds up they will have to transfer some money to other accounts. They want the general fund to be in good shape first.

The December board meeting will have the Truth in Taxation meeting.
Superindent Olson also informed the board that they would be having an on-site Title audit meeting. A checklist of 40 pages will have to be done. This is to make sure that all things are being done in the Title program.
The district received a $10,500 rebate from the co-op. They were one of nine schools that received the money.
The school received a new salad bar for the lunchroom courtesy of Peatland Reds from Trail. The company also donated a new one as well to Red Lake County Central School.
Olson has received eight applications for Lori Wollmans position in the office. They were to start interviews on October 22. There were a variety of backgrounds and they were going to select 3 or 4 to start the interviews.

Burgess report
They have run two fire drills and two lockdown drills so far this year. Five have to be done by the end of the year.
They are in the process of hiring half time para for Kindergarten and moving the last hour of help to the fourth grade.
They have finished the NWEA testing. It is not state required but they like to do it in the fall and then in the spring to see how the classes are going.
November 9th is the anticipated start date for the tutoring for the Native American Education. The district received a grant to pay for the program. Marilyn Johnson will lead the new program.
A Teacher-In Service will be held November 6th with training on Synergy.
Veterans Day program will be on November 11 at 1:00 p.m.
Conferences and career fair will be held on November 12. Conferences from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Career Fair from 5 to 7. Taco in a bag night will also be held.
Spotlight on Education
Sarah Goudge and Elliot Dickey presented the River Watch program that students are involved in through the Red Lake Watershed District. The team will go out several times during the year to monitor water quality in ten different sites. The watershed uses the information to make policy decisions. The program had been dropped and is now being picked up again this year.

Bills, treasurer’s report and electronic transfers were approved. Some of the payments include Stein’s Bus Service LLC $46,599.23; Hill River Electric $12,667.46; Clearwater-Polk Electric $10,881.92; Marco $7,704.65; Clearbrook Community Oil $5,836.29; Land O Lakes $2,061.43; Garden Valley Telephone Company $1,522.82 and North Country Hardware $1,365.74.
Old business
Kim Anderson the school agriculture teacher is developing a long term plan on what to do with the school forest located north of Clearbrook.
A date has been set up on November 2 to review the information that was obtained at the Listening Sessions.
New business
They approved the resignation of Lori Wollman from the office.
They approve the hiring of Marilyn Johnson Native American Education Coordinator
They approved the assurance of Compliance for the Commissioner of Education
They approved the purchase of the lowest bid from Clearbrook Plumbing and Heating for a new water softener for $5,800.
