Good Samaritan Society - Clearbrook employee receives Foundation scholarship

Clearbrook – Christine Wildman, employed at Good Samaritan Society – Clearbrook,  was presented with a scholarship from the Care Providers of Minnesota Foundation, an organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in care and service delivery through the advancement of education, research, creativity and innovation.
Ms. Wildman, a Licensed Practical Nurse, who has worked at Good Samaritan for 10 years, was presented with the scholarship by Jill Schewe, Director of Assisted Living, Housing and Home Care for Care Providers of Minnesota.
More than 50 applicants applied for scholarship monies; of those, 19 employees were selected as scholarship recipients. Students will use the assistance to further their professional development within the field of long-term care, including nursing, social work, occupational therapy,  and nursing home administration studies.
The scholarship recipients represent a broad cross-section of employees and long-term care centers from across the state. The $19,000 awarded this year brings the total dollar amount of scholarships given to date to more than $410,000. Scholarship monies are raised by the Foundation through their annual golf tournament, a silent auction held at the Care Providers of Minnesota convention and other contributions.
Gordon Hormann, facility Administrator said: “We are so proud that Christine was chosen to receive a Care Providers of Minnesota scholarship. She is a wonderful example of the caring staff at Good Samaritan Society – Clearbrook.
