Johnson Inducted into NFCA Hall of Fame

Ron’s first teaching and coaching position was at Gonvick, MN. He coached for 32 years compiling 205 wins, 11 conference titles, 4 state tournament appearances including two in the state semi-finals. During this time, he was voted Conference Coach of the Year 7 times and Section Coach of the Year once.

Although Coach Johnson’s list of accomplishments is impressive, the most impressive part of his career is his commitment to teamwork, integrity, and building character in the minds and hearts of his players and students. When Coach Johnson was notified he would be inducted into the hall of fame his first response was, “It’s that players that deserve the credit”.

The plaque is from the Minnesota Coaches Assocation who inducted Ron into the NFCA Hall fame for his contributions to football.
