Gonvick Lions Club March meeting
The Gonvick Lions Club held their regular monthly meeting at Sportsmen’s Lodge at Pine Lake on Wednesday, March 18.
They had a great party for one of their long-time members for his 80th birthday at the Gonvick Legion. He was surprised. He will also be at the entrance gate this summer when the Gonvick Lions are hosting their 36th annual Rodeo. Plans were discussed for the rodeo that will be held July 10 and 11, 2026. A clown has been missing for a few years, and they would like to bring one back again this year. There will be the parade and they are looking for ideas as to what extra things could be done during the annual event. The monthly Gonvick American Legion fish fry will be held.
A reminder that they will be hosting the Blood Drive on June 2 at the Gonvick Community Center. The blood drive rotates between Clearbrook and Gonvick.
Donations of cash to the Nursing home in Bagley for the residents’ weekly activities including bingo was approved.
After the weather dries up they will be getting together for the ditch cleaning on the Pine Lake Road.
The club donated $3,600 to pay for the costs for the year to help keep the Foot Care Clinic going at the Clearbrook-Leonard Senior Center.
The club meets every third Wednesday and they welcome people who are interested in joining.
