Bagley American Legion Auditorium Gets a Facelift

The Bagley American Legion Irvin Blix Post 16 Auditorium got a color facelift.  The very reddish pink wall is no longer.  What started as an idea four years ago, to about a year ago when another person picked up the reigns.  And an anonymous person bought the paint. 

It took another 9 months for a group eight to assemble, pick a date, make a plan and do it.  And so it began on Wednesday March 11, 10-4pm and Thursday March 12 starting at 10am.  There were a lot of pictures and trophies to be trophies and pictures to be taken down, nails and staples to be removed, holes to be patched, and various areas tape off before the painting could commence.  

When the team arrived Wednesday at 10am the pictures and trophies were down and lying on tables.  Two angels took it upon themselves to arrive early.  This gave the team a good head start.  The group had to be complete with day one by 4pm due to a meeting.  They all got right to work preparing the walls. In no time at all the painting, planned for Thursday.  The group was even able to change out ceiling panels that were stained. 

By 3:00pm about 90% of the painting was complete and the auditorium cleaned for the meeting.   This left only a small amount of painting, touch up, and redecorating for the Thursday group.  Greg Caspers came in day two to lend a hand.  Pretty cool for a great bunch of 70+ year olds.
