Donation for Minnesota's Girl's State

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 16 President Cheryl Grover accepts a donation from American Legion Irvin Blix Post 16 Gambling Manager Jeff Ness.  This donation sponsors three Bagley High School juniors to attend Girls State.  In all, five young ladies applied.  The Bagley American Legion Auxiliary sponsored the first two.  This generation donation allows all five Bagley High School juniors to attend Girls State this June 2026.

Minnesota Girls State is a premier week-long summer leadership program held at Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN.  Participants create a mock government, studying city, county, and state roles to learn about civic responsibility, Americanism, and the two-party system.(mnala.org)

Girls State is American Legion Auxiliary program running since 1937, with over 1 million participants.  It is considered a highly prestigious, resume-building, transformative experience.
