School board meeting December 2

The Clearbrook-Gonvick School Board held a special meeting on December 2, 2025 on the failed referendum vote. Superintendent Ryan Grow wanted a conversation about the process and thoughts about moving forward. He thought the Yes committee got their message out very well before voting.  

The board had many ideas about going ahead again or doing what needed to be done. There were two factors they thought contributed to the failure of the vote, the new gym and refurbishing of the courtyard. Some members thought they should go ahead again with a vote as soon as possible. Others wanted to prioritize what needed to be done.  Plans need to be changed. A referendum could be held in 3 to 5 years. The board thought the roof project needed to be done. There were many different viewpoints, and they will have to schedule more meetings to discuss what steps they should take. They asked Grow to have Ehlers Public Finance Advisors give them tax information for doing a roof project.

Grow also had two quotes on purchasing a truck to do snow plowing on the school parking lots. One used truck for $46,825 and a new one for $55,145. The board wanted to check into that a little further. No action was taken.

The next scheduled school board meeting is Monday, December 15, 2025.
