Obituary for LaRae Martine

Visitation services were held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, Minnesota. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Hill Assembly of God Church in Bagley with a visitation one hour prior with Pastor John Swanson officiating. Interment was held at the Bagley City Cemetery. 

LaRae Lynn was born on May 11, 1966, in Bagley, Minnesota; daughter of Roy and Lois (Fredrick) Martine. LaRae grew up in Shevlin, MN where she was baptized and confirmed at Clearwater Lutheran Church.  She attended elementary school in Shevlin and graduated from Bagley High School in 1984. LaRae married Tommy Iverson on October 13th, 1984, and blessed to that union was Travis, Lindsey, Sara, Brooke, Emiley, and Abbey.  

LaRae was a very diligent person and gave her all in everything she did.  She worked at the Bagley Nursing Home and provided the residents love through a good meal. LaRae flourished in the restaurant business; having worked at Dairyland, Hitch in Rail, D&R Café, and recently at K&K’s Café where she was blessed to work with her daughters and grandchildren and make memories that they will all cherish.  Customers loved LaRae, they always knew they would be greeted with a friendly smile and a cheerful hello, mixed with a little direct sass.  Some even fortunate enough to get one of her a special hugs!  If you were lucky, you could even hear her singing from the kitchen where she could whip up an order and have it out in lightening-speed.  She had a one-of-a-kind spirit, with a bubbly personality, full of energy, and her contagious laugh would light up the room.  Everyone who knew LaRae, felt her big heart and giving nature, always one to offer help and give an extra hand.  She loved cooking and baking and was continuously giving out baked goods or goodie baskets during the holidays. LaRae shared her baking and cooking skills with her children, by teaching them all her recipes and secret ingredients – traditions that will be carried on for generations.

LaRae cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always thinking of her grandkids and wanted nothing but the best for them.  LaRae prioritized her family above everything else in life. She cared deeply for them, constantly providing love and support.  In 2009, LaRae met the love of her life, Mike Paulson; they have been engaged for 12 years.  The two of them enjoyed riding motorcycle and looking at all that nature offers.  In LaRae’s spare time she enjoyed cruising in her truck, tending to her flower gardens, going to the casino, and playing Pinnacle and watching movies and mysteries with her family. One of her biggest highlights was visiting her daughter and granddaughters in Alaska. LaRae will be remembered for all her joy and laughter…most of all she will be remembered for living life to the fullest!

She will be lovingly remembered by her Fiance’ – Mike Paulson of Clearbrook, MN.

Daughters – Lindsey (John) Earnest of Anchorage, AK; Sara (John) Bjerke of Clearbrook, MN;

Brooke Iverson of Clearbrook, MN; Emiley Iverson of Anchorage, AK; and Abbey Iverson of Fargo, ND.

Grandchildren – Kaydence Jorgenson, Kaylie Bjerke, Kalista Earnest, Madison Earnest, 

Harper Earnest, and Brynlee Lang.

Mother – Lois Martine of Bagley, MN.

Sisters – Lorie (Tim) Sorenson of Bagley, MN; and Lisa Martine of Madison, WI. 

Special Aunt – Connie Helgeson of Shelvin, MN.

Brothers-in-law – Jason (Angela) Paulson of Gonvick, MN; and Darren Paulson of St. Paul, MN.

Nephews and Nieces – Trent Sorenson, Tyler (Amber) Sorenson, and Tiffany (Trent) Sorenson all of Bagley, MN.

 

She was preceded in death by her Father – Roy Martine; Grandmother – Elaine Martine; 

Father-in-law – Dave Paulson; and Mother-in-law – Sue Paulson.
