25 Years of Dentistry in Clearbrook

Dr. Randy Beard started his practice in Clearbrook in 1990 and has been in operation ever since. That’s almost 25 years! Dr. Beard and his wife Lori have two daughters Katelin and Allison. Katelin now lives in Sioux Falls, SD doing social work and Allison enters high school this fall. He also attended college at the University of Minnesota Dental School.

When asked why Dr. Beard wanted to become a dentist he said "Honestly, the defining moment was in the mid-seventies when the Readers Digest came out with their most satisfying and respected occupations list. My father pointed it out to me and at the time it was dentistry. Then as I was graduating high school I was a candidate for the U.S. Naval Academy and one of the reasons I wasn’t selected was because in a screening test I had indicated I was fairly certain I would ultimately become a dentist." There have been many changes to the practice from the many wonderful employees to modern Dental Materials and even the Electronic age.

Dr. Beard enjoys living in the country with his family and the wonderful people. He likes to spend a lot of his free time doing anything and everything outdoors. His wife Lori also keeps extremely busy, even through the summer she spends countless hours at the Clearbrook-Gonvick school and at home preparing for her in coming class. Lori is constantly on the run and still finds time for yard work, gardening and working on the house.

Dr. Beard does a lot of procedures at his practice, almost everything involved with dentistry due to being in a rural area he is flexible and adaptable. His favorite part about being a dentist is that "Everyday is literally a new adventure." But this is also his least favorite thing. The Clearbrook Dental Clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 8 to 4 o’clock and also some partial Fridays, to make an appointment call 776-3558.
