Damage with the August 12 storm

What started out as a wind from the south, turned to a wind from the west and then from the north on Wednesday, August 12. Then it hit with great force.

Most streets and yards were full of branches and leaves. Several trees were down in Clearbrook, Gonvick and Pine Lake area.

Fields of soy beans and corn at Clearbrook looked like pencils with sharp tips on the top.

Hay bales north of Gully were blown into the ditch and straw bales, a lighter weight were blown across the road and into another field.

The shed that the Gonvick Fire Department was raffling off during Pumpkin Day is laying in several pieces in Bakke’s field south of Gonvick. They have not decided what they will do. They have until the end of September to get another one together.
