Beth and Matt Huschle named the new Clearwater County Emerging Leaders. They were named at a special meeting at the Peterson Pavilion. They are the 36th couple to be chosen for this program.
Matt graduated from Bagley High School in 2003 and Beth 2004. They were married in December of 2006. Matt graduated from Central Lakes College in Brainerd with Auto Tech and Business Management degrees. He has been the shop manager for North Central Services in Bemidji for over ten years. He is the son of Dan and Kim Huschle of Bagley. Beth, the daughter of Duane and Mary Hayes earned both her Undergraduate and Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Beth has a SmartFITT business that specializes in creating individualized exercise programs for people. She is a member of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists. Beth is the Religious Education Coordinator at St. Josephs' where they are members. He is the chairman of the Clearwater County Republican party.
They live on the original home site that has had five generations of Hayes living on it. They are raising their five children and home schooling them.
The whole family keeps busy on the farm. They did maple syrup this past spring. They raise chickens for the eggs and have a large garden. Their son Isaac used several of the eggs and made an angel food cake to enter in the Clearwater County Fair. He made the first cake from scratch and earned first place. The family works hard in the garden and they can as much as they can for the year.
In their spare time they all enjoy fishing and swimming. In the winter they enjoy sledding on the hills and ice fishing.
The last couple chosen for the Emerging Leader program was Zach and Stacy Peterson since there was not a fair last year due to COVID.
