Grygla City Council holds July meeting

The regular meeting of the Grygla City Council was held on Wednesday, July 13th, at 7pm. The agenda included the approval of the June 8th meeting minutes, which are included below for your reference. The June Council meeting was held on the 8th with the following council members present: Mayor Richard Mosher, Gavin Nordby, Lindsay Oslund and Robert Thompson. Absent: Dave Dunrud. Also present were Crystelle Phlipps, Stacie Meyer and Rose Aune. 

The following agenda items were approved at the start of the meeting: previous month’s minutes, receipts & disbursements and payment of all bills presented on the claims list.

Crystelle Philipps, from Hoffman, Philipps, & Knutson PLCC, went over the 2014 City Audit.

The Revolving Loan Committee met to discuss the purchase of Motel 89 by Shawn & Stacie Meyer. A motion was made & approved to go with the Revolving Loan Committees recommendation and loan Meyers Management $40,000 at 3% interest for 15 yrs with payments to start 8/1/2015. Rose Aune is to talk to Bryan Grove about possibly setting up the amortization schedule and the loan agreement.

City garage siding: Aune will check with Galen Clow, Grygla School Superintendent, to see if they will settle for 25% of the entire repair bill, since the City has already paid Bill Neuschwander $3,800 for the east wall of the city garage.

Marbel Home mowing: $20 per lot per time mowing at the apartments, since Meyer’s do all the trimming themselves.

Community Center: New flooring is going to be ordered for the Eagle office. Windows need to be fixed in the Eagle office and the library.

Grygla Seed/New Lots: Depending on the cost of the installation of the culvert, the city may settle for Grygla Seed paying for all of that for payment of the extra land west of their property.

Safe Routes to School Grant: A motion was made to approve the resolution for the Safe Routes to School Grant.

Playground Equipment: Oslund sent measurements and pictures in for a design of a playground that will fit that area by the campground.

Trees: Rocky is supposed to meet with Lisa Newton and Jim Hest to figure out what trees should be purchased and planted on the west side of Klein Addition.

Data Privacy Policies: The following Data Privacy Policies were approved: Data Inventory, Data Practices Policy for Members of the Public, Data Practices Policy for Data Subjects, Data Practices Policy for City Employees & Elected Officials.

SHIP Mini-Grant: The council decided they would let the school pursue the SHIP Mini-Grant if they are interested at all. The council wasn’t interested in applying for it.

Enbridge Safe Community Grant: Bob is going to contact Meg about the Enbridge Safe Community Grant to see if it’s something that the Fire Department would be able to use for something.

Work contracts were tabled until the July meeting.

Extra meetings: Oslund, Thompson, Mosher and Nordby had a meeting with Lynn Anderson to go over the insurance policy changes.
