Robert Bobby Janssen, 55, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota formerly of Gonvick, Minnesota died on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Samhold Lutheran Cemetery.

The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert (Bob) Alan Janssen was born June 19, 1965, Crookston, MN to Evalee & Herman Janssen, youngest of five children. He was a life-time member of Samhold Lutheran Church, being baptized & confirmed in his faith. Bob attended Gonvick- Trail School graduating in 1983.

After graduation, he worked at Bagley Hardwood then Marvin Windows in Baudette. He always helped his dad with the farming.

Bob moved to Detroit Lakes and worked for his good friends Jeb and Kari Melbostad at Taco Johns. He was employed at Taco Johns for more than seventeen years. Bob also worked for Perfect Touch Cleaning Service in Fargo and became good friends with the owners.

Bob’s Hobbies included roller skating, bowling, playing cards and games and just driving around. He suffered a heart attack and survived a triple by-pass. He fell ill with COVID-19 November 4^th and passed away December 5^th from complications of the disease.

Bob was preceded in death by his dad, Herman, aunt Phyllis Janssen-Erickson, uncle Darrel Christopherson and son Tom, grandparents Arian and Clara Janssen and Mavis and Helmer Christopherson . He is survived by his mother, Evalee, brothers David and his wife Anne, Curt and his wife Brenda, sisters Judy and her husband Mick, Cheryl and her husband Glen, and many nieces and nephews.
