Oklee Ambulance Service loses three volunteers to retirement

On June 20th, many people from the three communities came together at the Oklee Community Hall to honor three of Oklee's Best.
Why are they the Best? Because between the three of them they have served the three communites for over 78 years of service, helping day or night, good or bad weather to make sure their patients got to the medical care they needed as fast as possible.
Mike Dessellier has been retired since March and has the most hours in between the three of them.
Oklee has been very fortunate to have Mike working and living in Oklee, to be a volunteer for over 38 years.
Deeann Eskeli was originally from Oklee and now lives in the Plummer area. She first served as an EMT, but when she moved her duties changed to secretary/treasurer served the Ambulance service for 20 years.
Doug Rhoades from the Trail area has been an important part of the local service also serving on the ambulance for 20 years. He has been our NW region EMT of our service area.
With these leaving, it is leaving a big hole in our ambulance service and some big shoes to fill.
