A new tower has been erected on the corner of county 7 and county 5 in Greenwood Township. The tower has been put up by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MN DOT) on the old Widseth property that now belongs to Dennis Clemenson and Donald Gunderson.
The tower on 0.41 acre more or less will be used by the MN DOT for public safety for the Sheriff, Ambulance and Highway Patrol to get better coverage in the northern part of the county.
MN DOT was looking at leasing tower space to AT & T or Verizon for better cell phone coverage in the are but nothing has been done about that as yet.
For now we will see a new light in the northern sky from Berner, Gonvick and Clearbrook.
