James D. Paquin age 82 passed away peacefully at home Friday July 26, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 30, 1937 in Brooks Minnesota the son of Aristide and Ethel (Brown) Paquin. He served in the United States Army from October 18, 1956 to September 28, 1957. James married Helen Walter on October 4, 1958 in South Milwaukee. He worked for Scott Construction Company in Lake Delton for over thirty years before retiring. He served on the Town of Excelsior board for fourteen years. He was a member of Delton Sportsman Club and donated numerous hours to Camp Gray. He loved to go fishing, hunting and work on his farm. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church in Reedsburg and Evansville.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years Helen, his children; James (Tiernee) Paquin Jr., Jeffrey (Haydon) Paquin, John (Wenda) Paquin, Jayne (Keith) Minch, twelve grandchildren, 13 great grand children, two sisters; Jani (Charles) Seeger, Myrna (Everett) Engebretson, a brother; Robert (Kippi) Paquin. He leaves behind many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother in law, Roy and Emily Walter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville with Father Paulraj Sellam St. Paul Catholic Church Evansville officiating with Military Rites following the service provided by V.F.W. Post 6905 Evansville. A visitation will be held from 9:30AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery Oak Creek.
