RLC Rebels Track and Field recognize athletes at banquet

Red Lake County Rebels Track and Field Team honored its athletes with recognition on June 5th in Red Lake Falls.
Twenty three athletes and two managers received letter awards and twenty six athletes and three managers were recognized with participation certificates.  The following were the letter winners Zoe Russillo, MaKenzie Williams, Connor Lambert, AJ Jones, Trent Goulet, Brenden Larson, Chris Longtin, Marcus Paradis, Kia Bachand, Clara Girdler, Maisy Hoefer, Hollie Knott, Sienna Olson, Jordan Kasprowicz, Brody Moen, Isiah Olson, Brock Tvedt, Carter Williams, Kjerstin Nelson, Marissa Schiebe, Blane Schmitz, Damon Ferguson, Gerald Melin, Janae Olson (Manager), and Cari Bachand (Manager).  The following were the participation certificate recipients Phillip Sorenson, Abby Walton, Madison Carlson, Katrina Olson, Bella Russillo, George Duden, Tristyn Ferguson, Andrew Johnson, Jeremy Kruchowski, Steven Sogla, Brooklyn Cardinal, Aurimy Olson, Savanna Nelson, Arielle Rude, Kiara Sauve, Oscar Duden, Carson Lambert, Carson Lambert, Jamie Flatgard, Sydney Fougner, Jennifer Johnson, Ella Moen, Kya Morinville, Gavin Booth, Dylan Gerardy, Caden Lee, Keyan Derosier, Katelyn Dufault (Manager), Jed Duden (Manager), and Rylee Ellefson (Manager).  
The Team also recognized individuals with Team awards.  The Most Valuable Track Athlete went to MaKenzie Williams and Connor Lambert.  The Most Valuable Field Athlete went to MaKenzie Williams and Isiah Olson.  The Rookie of the Year went to Kia Bachand, Brenden Larson, and Marcus Paradis.  The Most Improved went to Marissa Schiebe, Sienna Olson, Trent Goulet and Brenden Larson.  The RLC Award went to Marissa Schiebe, Carter Williams, and Damon Ferguson.  The Will to Win Athlete went to Blane Schmitz, Brenden Larson, Brody Moen, and Brock Tvedt.
One team record was broke and re-broke this season in the girls 4x800 Meter Relay with a time of 9:34.36 by Blane Schmitz, Brenden Larson, Brody Moen, and Brock Tvedt.  
Three athletes achieved Minnesota Individual Academic All-State Award.  MaKenzie Williams, Kia Bachand, and Hollie Knott.  This award requires a cumulative GPA of 3.6 to 4.0 and meet one of the following performance standards.  Earn All-Conference honors by placing 1st in their event at the Conference Meet, qualify for the current year’s State Track and Field Meet, or have equaled the State Honor Roll standard of time or distance in the current season.   
As coaches we are very proud of this group of athletes on our Team this season. We say good bye to five dedicated seniors Julia Bernstein (who could not compete this season), Zoe Russillo, MaKenzie Williams, Connor Lambert, and Phillip Sorenson, but look forward to our returning athletes for next season.
