Red Lake County Central graduation Friday, May 24th

Red Lake County Central Graduation was held Friday, May 24, 2019 at the High School in Oklee. The ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. Twenty-five seniors  received their diplomas and now are following their path to their future.

The program opened with the Presentation of Colors were presented by the Oklee American Legion Post #159 (members Commander Rick Dulka, Chaplain Don Stenberg, John Lessard, Einar Kvasager and Milo Sandeen. 

Superintendent James Guetter welcomed everyone to the graduation ceremony.

Phillip Sorenson sang “Humble and Kind” which was followed by the two top seniors Andrew Fish and Marie Johnson. 

Andrew Fish was the first to give an address to the audience and classmates. He started with the fact that he had not gone to school from Kindergarten to 12th grade like most of the class, but felt that he was accepted as one of RLCC own and will always have fond memories of Oklee and RLCC School.

Marie Johnson was next to address the audience and her classmates first talking about her experiences with her classmates, the fun times, the good times and sometimes the silly times. She thanked her classmates and wished them well and also thanked her parents. 

Following the addresses, the senior class sang “Country Roads” with senior Tom Nelson playing guitar. 

The senior class presented flowers to their parents and Principal Randall Pederson presented the Class of 2019 after the Class of 2019 Video. 

After the graduation, due to the rainy weather, the graduates lined the hallway and personal congratulations were given to the graduates.
