Terry Anderson to be Keynote Speaker at First Lady of Year Reception, Grace Notes To Perform.
On Saturday morning March 9, at 10:00 at the Clear Waters Life Center in Gonvick, the staff of the Clearwater County Historical Society will announce the 2019 Clearwater County First Lady. In keeping with tradition since 1977, the selection has been made but the name of the chosen lady has been kept secret- even from the lady herself!
The program will include keynote speaker Terry Anderson, whose presentation, in celebration of the National Women’s History Month 2019 Theme- “Visionary Women: Champions of Peace & Nonviolence” will address some of the common traits of history's remarkable women with the title “Women of Vision: Looking to the Past, Present and All Around for a Peaceful Future.”
Terry has a background in quality of life services for the elderly along with volunteer hospice work. These experiences have taught her that whatever we may do in life, it is ultimately about the relationships and connections we feel with one another that add not only joy to life, but peace as well. In 2014 she began a business called Chickadee Ceremonies where she is an officiant for wedding and funerals. She believes that ceremonies help us honor and give meaning to some of our biggest moments in life. Terry is also a spiritual director and church lay minister. She surprised herself by becoming a poet and public speaker.
Music will be provided by the Grace Notes: Kim LaVine, Jane Merschman, Judy Dewey, and Penni Cairns, who will perform two songs during the morning- long event.
The First National Bank and Riverwood Bank of Bagley, Border State Bank of Clearbrook and The Northern State Bank of Gonvick are sponsoring the award that will be given to the 2019 First Lady. This year’s event is co-hosted by the Clearwater County Historical Society and the Clear Waters Life Center.
Tickets ($15.00 each) available through Wednesday March 6 at several locations in the county or at the History Center in Shevlin. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, contact the History Center at 785-2000
