Iron Chargers attend state competition in St. Cloud

The Grygla Robotics Team 4149C competed at the state robotics competition last weekend, February 1-2, at River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, MN. Both teams, along with Advisor Nick Mickelson, attended the event. Only 4149C competed, winning 5/losing 3, ending in place 42 out of 60. 

Day 1 of the VEX MN State Tournament went as followed:

3:00 p.m. - Pits open and inspections 

5:30 p.m. Opening Ceremony 

6:00 p.m. - Qualification Rounds 

8:00 p.m. - End Qualifications

8:30 p.m. - Venue closes

The Day 2 schedule included:

8:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony - Parade of Teams

9:30 a.m. - Qualifications Rounds 

1:00 p.m. – Speaker

1:25 p.m. - Qualifications Rounds

3:45 p.m. - Alliance Selection Begins 

4:00 p.m. - Speaker

4:15 p.m. - Elimination Brackets Begin

5:30 p.m. - Awards and Closing

Day 2 of the VEX MN State Tournament also included all seniors being honored in the opening ceremony for their dedication to the program. There was a live webcast of the state tournament action that could be viewed over the duration of the event.

Iron Chargers Advisor Nick Mickelson commented on the weekend, saying, “The Iron Chargers C Team competed through some technological challenges and strong competition. They were unable to secure a spot for the elimination round. Team 4149C is looking to finish the season strong at the CREATE U.S. Open in Council Bluffs, Iowa from April 4th-6th!”
