Trail Santa Claus Days was held in the old schoolhouse upstairs in the “big” room. The day started with the children all having access to the blackboards and chalk. They were kept busy drawing Christmas pictures, snowmen, Christmas trees, reindeer and candy canes. The three best pictures got prizes.
Then Santa arrived and all was rather quiet while he gave everyone candy. After the passing of the candy pail, Santa handed out a present to each child, stuffed animals, legos, cars and, of course, dolls. Some also got theatre tickets. Noise level was increasing as the presents were opened. Then came the time for the adults to win. Turkeys, hams, coffee, blanket, hot chocolate mix and theatre tickets were some of the prizes. This was followed by the giving of the candy bags. By now the noise had increased greatly. Everyone enjoyed socializing while eating cookies and coffee or hot cider. All in all judging by the noise level we think everyone had a good day.
We would like to thank all those who donated prizes or money for the day. Northern Sand, Gully Café, Sollie Realty, Sand Valley Church, Fosston Napa, Jered’s Grocery, Fosston Theatre, Carol’s Cozy Bar & Grill, Farmers Union Insurance, Mary Jean Altendorf and Schoolhouse Grocery.
