Garden Valley provides $5,000 grant

The Garden Valley Education Foundation recently presented a $5,000 grant to the Clearbrook-Gonvick School to aid in purchasing cameras to be used in their media and yearbook classes, a television and accessories needed to place in their high school hallway, and mini iPads with protective cases to be used in their elementary classes.
On hand May 18th to receive the check from Garden Valley Education Foundation Director Vernon Hamnes were Superintendent Wayne Olson and Principal Jeff Burgess. On behalf of the Clearbrook-Gonvick School, they expressed appreciation for the technology grant.
The Garden Valley Education Foundation was established in late 1990 by the Garden Valley Telephone Company to promote rural economic development through the use of modern telecommunications technology for educational purposes. The Education Foundation is funded by Garden Valley Telephone Company through the use of unclaimed capital credits. In addition to offering eight earlier technology grants, grants have also been provided by the Education Foundation to area schools for interactive TV service and Internet access.
